Tottenham coaches blamed over what keeps happening to Guglielmo Vicario

Guglielmo Vicario continues to struggle for form at Tottenham.

Vicario made two errors against Nottingham Forest as Spurs fell to an embarrassing defeat on the road at the City Ground on 14 December.

Things haven’t improved at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Vicario continues to come under scrutiny for his poor showings.

The January transfer window is fast approaching, but it doesn’t look like Vicario will be dropped by Tottenham at this stage.

Thomas Frank has questions to answer in North London as he and his coaching team continue to be looked at for their failings surrounding Vicario.

Tottenham coaches blamed for Guglielmo Vicario failings

Vicario is struggling on and off the pitch at Tottenham, it seems, with his performances reflecting that in recent weeks and months.

The Italian came in from Empoli with little expectation and immediately proved himself as one of the better keepers in the Premier League.

That rating has quickly dropped, and now the shot-stopper is seen as more of a liability for Spurs due to his frequent mistakes in N17.

Former scout Bryan King has little positive to say about Vicario, but can’t see him being replaced in January, even if coaches continue to miss red flags in training.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “I don’t rate any of the goalkeepers they’ve got there at the moment.

Vicario came in and looked like he could be the answer, but he’s been making errors nearly every game.

How can they replace him? Where are they suddenly going to get a goalkeeper who they think could win them the Premier League or a cup?

I think they’ve stuck and have to stick with what they’ve got.

I’d be looking at the coaching. There are certain things missing in his game, and it seems that the coaches are missing them too.

Tottenham unlikely to land Vicario replacement

The January window is just days away in N17, and there looks to be a need for changes after a frustrating first half of the season under Frank.

The goalkeeper position is arguably one that the Lilywhites have shown an interest in landing during the winter market.

Ter Stegen and Bart Verbruggen have been linked, but neither feels like a true step up from Vicario even after his recent problems.

Spurs could stand by the Italian and hope he finds his feet, but the coaching staff seemingly has to take a step up and see the problems in his game.
