Tottenham can ‘surprise people’ by getting a result against Manchester City – Expert
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham remains confident that Tottenham can go to Manchester City and “surprise people” when the teams meet in the Premier League on Sunday (3 December).
Ange Postecoglou’s side will head into the clash against the current Premier League champions as heavy underdogs.
The north London outfit have lost their past three league matches on the bounce and are without several key players for the trip to the Etihad Stadium.

Nonetheless, Wenham is still confident that Tottenham will have enough to get a result at the home of the defending champions.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “I know everyone has written off the Manchester City game, suggesting we’re just going to go up there and lose 4-0, but I don’t agree with that.
“With Yves Bissouma coming back into the side I think that will make us significantly stronger, and I still think we can get something from the game.
“I’m not going to sit here and accept defeat just because we’re going to play a highline, I don’t agree with that narrative at all.
“Yes, I think Jeremy Doku is a huge threat, but I think Pedro Porro has been excellent this season and will be able to deal with him.

“I’m not putting this match down as a definite defeat like many others, I think we can go there and get something and surprise people.
“We just seem to have something over City, I don’t know why or how but we do, that’s just a fact.
“I think we can go there and get a point, and I would be absolutely delighted with that.”
