Tottenham backed to sign Fikayo Tomori as transfer exit news emerges
AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori has been linked with a move to Tottenham.
As reported by talkSPORT via X (2 January) a Premier League return is on the cards for Tomori, with Newcastle, West Ham and Brentford also interested in the centre-back.
Ange Postecoglou is in desperate need of reinforcements in North London, particularly in defensive positions, as frustration emerges after yet more injury setbacks.
As a result, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – would welcome a move for Tomori in January.
“Tomori is a player who has won things,” Wenham said.
“He’s actually been there, and done stuff and I do think he is actually quite a good player. Therefore, would I take him right now? Yes, I would.
“We’re currently starting an 18-year-old midfielder at centre-back, we need someone like Tomori, a good player with pedigree who has played for big clubs. He grew up in London, he’s homegrown. Absolutely we should sign him.”
Tottenham to sign AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori?
At the moment, Spurs supporters would likely take any defender that they can get, especially after their struggles in the 2-1 Premier League defeat against Newcastle United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (4 January). However, signing Tomori would be less of a panic buy and more of a blend of long-term planning and immediate problem-solving.
While Tomori has struggled as of late in Italy, he has demonstrated throughout his career that he is a capable defender. As a result, Spurs could do a lot worse when it comes to squad options in North London.
Postecoglou himself would no doubt welcome the signing of Tomori as pressure continues to mount on the Australian, with one player speaking out about his manager [via talkSPORT, 3 January, 6:52 pm].

Therefore, if the 27-year-old is signed, supporters are unlikely to have too many complaints.
