Tottenham backed to hire new manager by Friday, first game in charge vs Arsenal: ‘It would instantly lift everyone’
Tottenham’s search for Thomas Frank’s replacement could move very quickly.
Frank was sacked on 11 February, with the 2-1 loss to Newcastle being the last straw for Spurs supporters and the board.
Malick Thiaw scored the opening goal, and Archie Gray’s equaliser counted for nothing as Jacob Ramsey secured all three points for the visitors at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
That was the final nail in his coffin, and the Lilywhites are now looking for a third manager in eight months.

How quickly could Tottenham appoint their new manager?
John Wenham believes Frank was never suited to Spurs, and that they could sort out a temporary replacement in the coming days.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “It had to happen, the feeling was that it just wasn’t going to work, the style of football was not compatible with the club’s DNA, to dare is to do.
“We’ve now got 12 days until we play Arsenal, if we can get a new manager in the next one or two days, that gives 10 clear days to prepare for that game.
“It would just instantly lift everyone for that game, that is massive, there is nothing that Tottenham would love more than to stop Arsenal.

“Tottenham need the win, they are right down in the relegation zone, I don’t think I’ve ever celebrated a Man United goal as much as I did last night when Benjamin Sesko scored against West Ham.
“Tottenham are in a relegation battle, the sooner they accept that the better, they can’t sleepwalk into it, like they have been doing since November and December.”
Why quick approach could be best for Tottenham
Hiring a new man in the immediate future could be the right move for Spurs, as their best target will not be available until the summer.
The man on most Tottenham supporters’ minds is Mauricio Pochettino, but he is set to manage the United States in the World Cup.
The 53-year-old has made it clear that he will not leave that role, and it would take fairly hefty compensation to buy out his contract.
Therefore, appointing an interim boss in the next few days, until their preferred option is available, may well be the best option.
