Tottenham attacker Timo Werner injury update shared by Doctor

Tottenham attacker Timo Werner must be monitored carefully by the physios to avoid a re-injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that while he will not need surgery, he faces a risk of a setback and will currently be looking to regain strength and mobility.

Ange Postecoglou ruled the 28-year-old out for the rest of the season so he will not be facing Sheffield United on the final day on 19 May.

Discussing the state of play with Werner’s setback exclusively with Tottenham NewsDr Brara doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “Based on the hamstring injury and Ange’s initial comments, this sounds like a Grade 3 injury at the least.

His day-to-day will be looking to gradually restore strength and mobility to that hamstring.

It is not one that will need surgery but he will need to be carefully monitored by the physios so as to avoid a re-injury.

The adaptation to the Premier League too could’ve taken a toll on his body which abruptly ended his season.

Timo Werner has had a decent spell at Tottenham

While it may not be eye-catching, Werner has shown versatility across the front line, scoring two goals and providing three assists in 10 league starts.

Despite a mixed performance, Werner has been a useful squad player for Spurs, fitting into their attacking style of play.
