Tottenham and Daniel Levy to benefit financially from Premier League development
John Wenham believes Tottenham and Daniel Levy are set to benefit financially from a recent Premier League development.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims that the North London side are in a very healthy financial position.
It comes after Sky Sports News reported (30 April) that Premier League clubs had voted in principle for a spending cap to replace the current profit and sustainability rules from the 2025/26 season onwards.
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Spurs would be one of the clubs in England’s top flight which would benefit most from this reform.
“Manchester United and Chelsea were two of the clubs against it, which implies to me that this rule is probably going to be stricter,” Wenham said.
“I think this is a move to stop new owners coming into the Premier League and buying a load of players like Manchester City did all those years ago.
“That would further extort the market which wouldn’t be good.”
“In my opinion this will benefit Tottenham more than any other team in the Premier League, considering the financial position the club is in.”
Tottenham and Daniel Levy to benefit from Premier League spending cap
Spurs have never been the biggest spenders when it comes to wages or transfer fees.
A spending cap would likely change very little about Tottenham’s current transfer policy while dealing a heavy blow to some of their direct rivals.

This could only be a good thing for Levy and the club as it would create a more level playing field, which could allow Tottenham to close the gap on some of the teams above them.
