Tottenham and Daniel Levy look to sign off on £25m-a-year deal – Finance Expert

Dan Plumley has insisted that a £25million-a-year naming rights deal is realistic for Spurs and Daniel Levy to be aiming for at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The football finance expert did admit that it is hard to put a true value on these kinds of deals, with other examples used as a benchmark such as Manchester City and Etihad.

The Daily Mail reported on 5 February that the search will continue for a partner, with talks already held with the likes of Google and Amazon.

“I think it is realistic,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.

“I will caveat that with it is really tricky to put a market value on what a good stadium naming rights deal is, and again in the sport, you’re only looking to other deals in the market and benchmark where you sit within that.

We’ve seen some deals in time gone by whereby there’s been a connection to a particular sponsor or a connection to the club, look at Emirates and Arsenal, Etihad and Manchester City as two English examples.

You are trying to benchmark that as what it is worth in the market and it’s really tricky, that figure is slightly lower than some of those deals we have seen so you feel like it is quite a realistic play to put on it.

It’s still a good package and again, it’s still within all of that despite the positives of the stadium, it’s not an easy sell because people want value on a price so the negotiations will be tough.

Look at the way Spurs are going though, and there is a deal to be there that could command that figure and if they get back into the Champions League, I think that figure then becomes more realistic because it opens you up to a very different market and that is an attractive sell as well.”

Tottenham eye mega deal at stadium

After Todd Kline left his role earlier in the week, it looks as though his failure will only spur on the club to get this deal over the line in the near future.

Levy has made a real goldmine in North London, and it will only continue to grow as deals such as this one are completed when that is announced.

In other Tottenham news, Postecoglou must keep an eye on one 17-year-old Spurs sensation after what he did this week.
