Tottenham are stepping up their pursuit of Thomas Frank to replace the outgoing Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham have spent the last two weeks deliberating over whether the UEFA Europa League triumph was enough to keep Postecoglou in the job following a dismal domestic campaign.

However, Tottenham have now confirmed that Postecoglou has been sacked.

Tottenham have set their sights on Brentford manager Frank to replace the 59-year-old.

Levy’s stalling of the decision to replace Postecoglou has been partially due to fear of the wrath he would receive from Tottenham fans should he not be assured of bringing in an adequate replacement.

Spurs have been linked to plenty of potential candidates with Premier League experience, such as Marco Silva, Oliver Glasner, and Frank, to guarantee the club does not repeat a 17th-place finish.

Levy has settled on Frank, with a recruitment source with close links to Spurs exclusively revealing to Tottenham News that things are moving forward with Frank as the hunt for a Postecoglou replacement kicks on.

Frank won’t come cheap for Tottenham. However, Spurs are no strangers to paying over the odds for managerial appointments.

Levy takes a huge gamble by sacking Postecoglou

Conversations about whether or not Postecoglou will be sacked have dominated the headlines in recent weeks, and Levy has now finally made up his mind.

However, this is a massive gamble by the chairman. While Spurs were historically poor in the Premier League, Postecoglou delivered a trophy to Tottenham supporters who had been craving one for years.

Therefore, the emotional connection between the former Celtic boss and the fans has grown, as well as the connection between Postecoglou and his players. As a result, axing him now is a huge risk, and Frank will be under a lot of pressure should he take over.
