Frank helpless over latest Romero exit news at Tottenham – Exclusive
Cristian Romero has been linked with a move away from Tottenham since the end of the last campaign.
In just under a month, Tottenham‘s Premier League campaign will get underway, and there is still a cloud of concern over the future of Romero.
At one point, his move to Atletico Madrid seemed almost nailed on, but talks with Diego Simeone’s side have since stalled, leading to even more questions.
However, that interest is likely to remain until the end of the window, with an exit impossible to rule out yet.

Thomas Frank will not want to lose Romero
The Argentinian was crucial to the European success that Spurs found last season, and has been a mainstay since his arrival a few years ago.
However, rumours of an exit emerged well before Thomas Frank was appointed, and Paul Robinson thinks that the German will struggle to influence his future as a result.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “The links to Atletico have not gone away. The links to Atletico have been there for a long time.

“It’s very difficult to give you an honest answer to that, because you don’t know what the new manager wants, what they’re going to do until you see the shape of his team in the early part of pre-season.
“But then you look at the cover that they’ve got in that area, it’s an area that they struggled in last year. If they are to let Romero go, they’re going to have to replace him.
“I think the Romero deal was potentially too far down the line for Thomas Frank to make any kind of impact on changing it. So, without any kind of knowledge or education, my guess would be that he would go.”

Tottenham must replace Romero well if he leaves
At this stage in the summer, time is slowly starting to run out for Romero‘s exit to be sanctioned, given the fact that they would need a replacement.
Marc Guehi remains an option, with several others linked with a move.
The next few weeks will undoubtedly paint a clearer picture as to where his future lies.
