Thomas Frank told to seek swift exit for Tottenham star who is ‘not a good influence’

Thomas Frank has overseen an overhaul to the squad at Tottenham this summer.

The former Brentford boss took the reins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium early into the transfer window, and he has worked effectively with the club hierarchy to transform the options at his disposal.

Randal Kolo Muani joined Spurs on deadline day as he became their eighth new addition, while there have also been numerous players heading out in the other direction.

Frank will be generally pleased with where his squad is at, but one star in particular is still posing an issue for him.

Thomas Frank to continue to push for Yves Bissouma exit

Yves Bissouma finally looked destined to leave Tottenham at the end of the transfer window, only for his move to Galatasaray to fall through in the final stages.

The Mali international has been heavily linked with an exit from N17 for several months now, and his issues with lateness have continued into Frank’s reign.

He is yet to make a competitive appearance under the new boss, and with the transfer window still open in both Turkey and Saudi Arabia, there could still be an opportunity to move him on imminently.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that the Lilywhites should be looking to get Bissouma out of the club in any way that they can.

“He (Bissouma) has had issues with his lateness ever since he’s been at Spurs. That hasn’t changed under Frank,” King said.

“When Frank came in, the slate was wiped clean on all players, but to do what he’s done shows that he’s not going to be a regular member of the side.

“If I were Frank, I’d want him out of the club as quickly as possible, because he’s not a good influence; he’s proved that.”

Tottenham could cancel Yves Bissouma’s contract

It had been speculated that Tottenham would rip up Bryan Gil’s contract before he sealed his move to Girona, and they should contemplate the same for Bissouma.

The former Brighton man is out of contract at the end of the season, and with that in mind, it could be an option for the Lilywhites to pay compensation to release him early.

If they cannot find a suitor for the midfielder in either Turkey or Saudi Arabia, then this option would allow them to cut their losses and end ties with a player who has been troublesome for the new boss.

It’s obviously not the ideal scenario, but it would save them money on his wages in the long-term.
