Thomas Frank tipped to have huge effect on Tottenham star who has ‘surprised everybody’
Thomas Frank has already transformed Tottenham in the early stages of the new season.
The Lilywhites have made a bright opening to the new Premier League campaign, and they continued their good start in their return to the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Tottenham defeated Villarreal 1-0 to open their European campaign with a victory, notching their fourth clean sheet from six competitive outings so far this term.
Frank’s influence has been invaluable in improving the team’s defensive fortunes, and he could be about to have a transformative effect on this star in particular.

Thomas Frank tipped to improve Lucas Bergvall even further
Lucas Bergvall starred for Tottenham in their win over West Ham last weekend, and he was rewarded for his efforts with a start in the Champions League.
The youngster turned in another impressive display for the North Londoners, as he continues to look like an excellent buy for both now and in the future.
The N17 outfit beat Barcelona to his signature when they agreed to sign him in February 2024, and he appears to have gone from strength to strength under Frank already.
- Spurs paid just £8.5million to sign Bergvall from Djurgarden
- He became the second-youngest Spurs player to score and assist in the same game in the win over West Ham
- He made 45 appearances for Tottenham in his first season in 2024/25
Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that Frank is the right manager to help the Sweden international take his game to the next level.
“Frank will improve Bergvall, I’m sure,” King said.
“He’s surprised everybody because, to start with, he didn’t look as though he was going to be strong enough.
“He certainly looks strong now, he’s starting to look like a good all-round player.
“He gets about the pitch, wins the ball and passes it well. I would be quite excited if I were Tottenham, given that he has already improved in the way that he has.”

Tottenham have Dejan Kulusevski to thank for Lucas Bergvall arrival
Tottenham can count themselves lucky to have Bergvall after it has recently emerged that Barcelona had agreed personal terms to sign the youngster before Spurs moved in.
The Lilywhites have Dejan Kulusevski to thank for their impressive transfer hijack, as the 25-year-old convinced his countryman to pick North London over Catalonia.
Bergvall looks to be an exceptional long-term investment from Spurs, and it would no surprise to see him star in their midfield for many years to come.
