Thomas Frank ‘reaches £30m+ Tottenham agreement’ as major contract news emerges
Thomas Frank’s appointment as Tottenham’s new manager is drawing nearer.
Talks over the Dane’s arrival have accelerated in the last few days, with Daniel Levy looking to make a swift appointment.
The Tottenham Chairman has agreed to pay the £10m release clause that Brentford have demanded to release their manager from his contract.
However, Levy is thought to have had to stump up a lot more cash than that to secure a deal.

Frank ‘to sign contract worth over £30million at Tottenham’
Levy has come under intense pressure from his superiors to ensure that his next appointment is successful after firing his 15th manager since his arrival in 2001, when he dismissed Ange Postecoglou.
The 63-year-old quickly identified a list of potential candidates and, as per Fabrizio Romano via X (10 June), has reached an agreement to appoint Frank as the new manager of Tottenham.
Managers | Days in Job | Matches in Charge |
Ange Postecoglou | 706 | 101 |
Antonio Conte | 509 | 76 |
Nuno Espirito Santo | 123 | 17 |
Jose Mourinho | 516 | 86 |
The Danish manager is set to leave the Bees after seven and a half years in charge of the West London side and go to a club where the lifespan of managers is far less assured.
Frank will no doubt be wary of that, and ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes some big assurances will have been made to the Tottenham manager to be.
“He will have signed a very good contract,” King said.
“It will be a far better contract than he had with Brentford. He’s in the driving seat. Therefore, I imagine his demands will have been met. I’d imagine he’s signed a four-year contract, which includes a very good compensation package in case things go wrong.
“The biggest thing Frank needs to do is improve Spurs’ Premier League finish from last year. A club as big as Tottenham can’t have another Premier League season like the last.
“They’ve got to be in the top six every year. This is a big move for Frank. As a result, I’d imagine he will be on at least £8million-a-year. I really hope Frank is successful at Tottenham.”
Tottenham fans could worry that Levy might hold back on transfers
The costs associated with paying off Postecoglou, who had one year left on his contract, and hiring Frank could significantly reduce Tottenham’s transfer budget.
However, the squad still needs significant investment, as they have proved incapable of competing on multiple fronts, and fans would be right to fear that Levy may hold back on spending big on players.
