Sources: Tottenham could tempt Bournemouth with a big-money offer for Dominic Solanke

Bournemouth could struggle to turn down a big-money offer for Dominic Solanke with Tottenham in pursuit of the striker this month, sources have told Tottenham News.

As previously reported by The Sun (25 December), Ange Postecoglou’s side are monitoring Solanke’s situation at Bournemouth with the Australian in the market to add to his striker options.

Solanke has been in incredible form as of late, scoring eight league goals in his last eight.

He has 12 goals in the Premier League in total this season, which is the same number as the likes of Spurs’ Son Heung-min and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah.

While the Cherries would likely be reluctant to sell their talisman, especially in January, Tottenham News has been told that they could be tempted to play ball if a head-spinning offer were to arrive this month.

Spurs’ squad is currently decimated by injuries, leaving Postecoglou in desperate need of reinforcements.

Alejo Veliz was the latest Spurs man to join the club’s ever-growing list of absentees, and with Son competing at the Asia Cup throughout January, it leaves Richarlison as the club’s only senior striking option.

As a result, Spurs could be forced to enter the market for a striker, with Solanke’s form certainly making him an attractive prospect.

A recruitment source with links to the north London side has told Tottenham News that Solanke could be an asset for the club, and an option if Postecoglou were to play a 4-4-2 formation.

Solanke joined Bournemouth from Liverpool in a deal worth £19million in 2019 (BBC Sport), after leaving Chelsea to join the Reds in 2017 when his deal at Stamford Bridge expired.

The 26-year-old has played 196 times for the south coast club, scoring 69 goals and providing 28 assists across those appearances.

In other Tottenham news, one 100 per cent Spurs ace is beginning to live up to his potential after Postecoglou’s “more to come” admission.
