Sources: Manchester City want to sign Tottenham star Pedro Porro as long-term Kyle Walker replacement

Manchester City are interested in a summer move for Pedro Porro as they look to secure a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker, Tottenham News has been told.

Porro has been a standout performer for Spurs this season under Ange Postecoglou.

The 24-year-old has started 19 of the north London side’s 20 Premier League games during the current campaign, registering seven assists in that time.

His bright displays have drawn attention from some of Europe’s elite, with Tottenham News previously revealing that Real Madrid and Barcelona are both interested in the defender, and a recruitment source with close links to Spurs has now revealed to Tottenham News that Manchester City are interested in replacing Walker with Porro this summer.

City signed Walker from Spurs back in 2017 in a deal worth an initial £45million. The right-back is now 33 years old, and City are already planning for life without him and could look to raid Spurs once again in that department when the summer transfer window opens in June by re-signing Porro.

Tottenham News has learned that Porro and Pep Guardiola’s Spanish link could make a move even more attractive for the pair, with sources describing a transfer as “terribly hard” to turn down for the defender.

Porro has already been signed by Manchester City once previously back in 2019, but he struggled to break into the first-team picture at the Etihad Stadium and after an initial loan spell signed permanently for Sporting CP in 2022, before joining Spurs in January 2023 in a deal worth £39million (Sky Sports News, 1 February 2023).

In other Tottenham news, one pre-agreed £12million Spurs signing is heading out on loan to the Netherlands.
