Son Heung-min ‘to remain at Tottenham’ amid Saudi transfer speculation
Son Heung-min is one of several players facing an uncertain future at Tottenham.
There have been question marks surrounding Son this summer after a lacklustre individual season.
The 32-year-old finally won silverware with Tottenham after lifting the UEFA Europa League. However, Son’s future in North London remains more uncertain than ever despite the victory.
Many have questioned whether the South Korean should or can continue at the top level.

Son could accept a secondary role to remain at Tottenham
As reported by The Telegraph (6 June), Son has left his teammates and staff members with the impression that he could leave Tottenham this summer.
Interest has emerged from Saudi Arabia, and the Spurs skipper could cash in on a big-money offer.
Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes |
Son Heung-Min | 46 | 11 | 12 | 3.189′ |
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that Son will remain in North London.
“I’m sure Tottenham would sell Son if an offer of £60million came in,” Wenham said.
“However, that would require Son to agree to join a club in Saudi Arabia, because no one else is going to offer that kind of money for somebody of his age.
“Therefore, this would need to be a move which works for all parties. I can see why Tottenham would want to sell him. A rare chance to get the best years out of a player, have him become a legend of the club, and then sell him for a huge profit. That is enticing.
“However, I’m happy for Son to remain at Tottenham and have a lesser role next year, and I think that is what will happen.”

Tottenham should stick with Son for another season
Tottenham are in the middle of a huge reshuffle, which saw former boss Postecoglou shown the door on Friday (6 June).
As a result, Tottenham have begun looking for a replacement, with Brentford coach Thomas Frank the current frontrunner.
Frank will need a leader in the dressing room if he arrives at Hotspur Way, and Son is the obvious choice.
The captain is not only a leader in name, but as one of the Lilywhites’ longest-serving members, he commands respect. Therefore, as a new cycle begins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Son will need to lead the charge one final time.
