Scott Parker ‘wants Tottenham job’ as £10m Burnley exit claim made
Daniel Levy could turn to Burnley manager Scott Parker to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
Ahead of Spurs’ 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday (27 April), which saw the Reds clinch the Premier League title, Postecoglou did something no Tottenham manager has ever done as he made wholesale changes at Anfield.
Therefore, it is clear that the 59-year-old’s full focus is on the UEFA Europa League.
Spurs will welcome Bodø/Glimt to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (1 May) for the first leg of the Europa League semi-final.
However, regardless of whether or not the Lilywhites win the competition, Postecoglou is expected to be sacked, and it appears Parker is ready to replace the Australian.

Parker’s compensation fee at Burnley ‘worth £10million’
Parker is one of many managers to be linked with the Tottenham job in recent weeks, much to the disappointment of Spurs supporters.
However, it appears not everybody agrees that this would be an underwhelming appointment, with Richard Keys naming Parker as a realistic replacement for Postecoglou.
It comes just days after the 44-year-old guided Burnley back to the Premier League, breaking multiple records along the way, such as most clean sheets [30] in a Championship season.
Championship 2024/25 | Position | Points | Played |
Burnley | 1st | 97 | 45 |
Leeds United | 2nd | 94 | 44 |
Parker was named Championship Manager of the Season on Sunday (27 April) at the EFL Awards, and ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks the former Lilywhites midfielder would accept the managerial role in North London if it were offered to him.
“Parker has worked at clubs where the budgets haven’t been large,” King said.
“He is a young up-and-coming manager, so why not look to him? It can’t be any worse than what we have had. He is an ex-Tottenham player. Therefore, I’d imagine he would be very interested in the job if it were offered to him.
“Tottenham will have to pay a compensation fee, probably around £10million. However, in today’s football market, that is a small price to pay.”
Postecoglou still has a chance to make history at Tottenham
For all of Spurs’ struggles at the moment, and all of the speculation around Postecoglou, the former Celtic manager still has a chance to make history at Tottenham by winning the Europa League.
Therefore, he needs to shut out all the noise around him and focus on the task at hand.
