Ryan Mason ‘to attract four Tottenham players to sign for West Brom’

Ryan Mason could use his Tottenham contacts to make some exciting signings at West Brom.

It has been a week of change for Tottenham, after confirmation on Friday (6 June) that Ange Postecoglou had been sacked.

While this has dominated the headlines, it wasn’t the only major exit decision this week, with Donna-Maria Cullen announcing she was stepping down from her position as executive director at Tottenham.

In addition, Ryan Mason has left the Lilywhites to take over as West Brom Head Coach, and the 33-year-old could be followed to The Hawthorns by four Tottenham players.

Tottenham saw several of their young players excel on loan this season.

Josh Keeley and Jamie Donley spent the season with Leyton Orient, with Donley racking up 19 goal involvements in 52 appearances, which led to him being named Orient’s Player of the Season by supporters.

Meanwhile, Keeley kept 16 clean sheets across 47 games.

George Abbott also enjoyed his time on loan with Notts County, where he was a regular and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that the Spurs trio, along with Moore, could follow Mason to Albion on loan.

“Mason is one I wanted to keep around at Tottenham,” Wenham said.

“I was quite disappointed when it was announced that he had left. However, good for him, this is an amazing opportunity, and I’m sure he will succeed.

“I thought he would have poached some more of the coaching staff at Tottenham; there were a lot of people he had good working relationships with. I’m sure West Brom will be an attractive destination for Tottenham players next season.

“We will need to wait and see who they decide to approach. However, some obvious players who could be attracted to join West Brom are Keeley, Donley and Abbott, who will all be in for Championship loans next season.

“There could also be a space for Moore, too, once a decision is made on him.”

Tottenham should loan out their young players

Now that Postecoglou has been sacked, Tottenham have entered a period of uncertainty.

Thomas Frank has emerged as the favourite to replace him, but it is still unknown how he will handle Spurs’ young talents.

Furthermore, the first season under a new coach is usually the toughest as the team attempts to adapt to new ideas and methods. As a result, a loan spell under a coach they are familiar with at Albion may be best.
