Richarlison set to start for Tottenham v Chelsea as ‘Phenomenal’ claim emerges
John Wenham believes Richarlison will start for Tottenham against Chelsea on Thursday (2 May).
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose feels that the Brazil international made a “phenomenal” impact when he came off the bench in the North London derby on Sunday (28 April).
Spurs were beaten 3-2 by Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Richarlison replacing James Maddison in the 64th minute.
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the 26-year-old could be in line to make his first Spurs start since February at Stamford Bridge.
“Richarlison made a phenomenal difference when he came on against Arsenal,” Wenham said.
“He should have started the match and he absolutely must start against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with Son Heung-min moving back to the left.
“Richarlison provides a presence up top, and it is important not to forget that up until these recent injury issues he was in really good form.
“I think Ange Postecoglou will start him against Chelsea in a match which offers the Spurs players an opportunity to repay the fans after the North London derby defeat.”

Richarlison offered some much-needed physicality when he came on against the Gunners.
In a London derby supporters want to see players who will fight for the badge, and the Spurs number nine is certainly a player who will do just that.

If he does start on Thursday, it definitely won’t be a comfortable night for the Chelsea backline.
