Richarlison causes fury as King slams what he saw Tottenham star do
Richarlison continues to divide opinion in North London despite helping Tottenham reach the UEFA Europa League final.
Richarlison provided an assist in the 3-1 victory over Bodø/Glimt in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday, 1 May.
The Brazilian started once again in the second leg in Norway on Thursday (8 May) as Ange Postecoglou’s side booked their place in the final with a 2-0 win at the Aspmyra Stadion.
However, not everybody was impressed with Richarlison’s contributions against Bodø/Glimt.

Richarlison criticised for performance v Bodø/Glimt
It is expected that Richarlison will leave Tottenham this summer.
Just hours ahead of kick-off against Bodø/Glimt, Sky Sports News reported (8 May) that Everton are interested in re-signing Richarlison.
Tottenham | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Richarlison | 87 | 20 | 10 |
However, ex-Spurs and Everton scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – isn’t a fan of this potential transfer, especially not after watching Richarlison against Bodø/Glimt.
“Oh, deary me,” King said.
“I know the Everton supporters liked him, but he was never a success at Goodison Park. Maybe take him on loan, but I certainly wouldn’t buy him if I were Everton.
“Watching Richarlison, he was one of the disappointments for Tottenham in the semi-final. His body language isn’t right. That sounds like a bit of a crazy deal for me. Unless Everton can get £70million for Beto and bring Richarlison in on loan with the premise to buy him, for me, there isn’t much credibility in that.”

Tottenham need to sell Richarlison
Whether it is to Everton or another club, Tottenham need to sell Richarlison this summer, even if that means accepting a loss.
The striker has just two years left on his contract and isn’t going to be offered a new deal in North London. Therefore, the longer Tottenham wait, the further Richarlison’s value will fall.
If the Lilywhites don’t sell the 28-year-old this summer, they risk allowing him to enter the final year of his contract. As a result, now is the time to cut ties.
