Revealed: Fabio Paratici recommends Tottenham to sign Ederson from Atalanta

Fabio Paratici has recommended Spurs to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson, Tottenham News has been told.

Ederson has been a standout performer for his side in the Serie A this season.

The 24-year-old Brazillian has started 19 of the club’s 20 league fixtures, scoring five goals and providing one assist from central midfield, while he’s also netted once in the UEFA Europa League.

A recruitment source with close links to Spurs has revealed to Tottenham News that Paratici has advised the North London club to add the midfielder to their ranks.

Since joining Tottenham as the managing director of football (BBC Sport, 12 June 2021), the former Juventus chief has been responsible for a host of top signings, especially from Italy’s top flight.

The likes of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur and Destiny Udogie were all brought to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium under the 51-year-old’s watch.

Although he no longer works with the club in an official capacity after he was banned from worldwide football activity, Paratici is continuing to advise those in the building on their transfer activity (The Telegraph, 2 January), and Tottenham News has learned that Ederson is his latest recommendation.

Tottenham

Sky Sports News previously revealed online in their live transfer centre (16 January, 5:48 pm) that Spurs are tracking Ederson, as well as Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future up in the air.

Ange Postecoglou will be keen to continue adding midfield depth to his squad at Hotspur Way. The Australian currently finds himself short in that department, with Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma both away competing at the African Cup of Nations.

In other Tottenham News, Postecoglou will be delighted with one player looking back to his best while away on international duty.
