Pundit predicts continued first-team spell for Jamie Donley at Tottenham
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium…
Paul Robinson believes opportunities could continue to present themselves to Tottenham teen sensation Jamie Donley throughout January.
Donley, 18, is regarded as one of the best young players on the books at Spurs with the attacker coming off the bench in two of the club’s last five Premier League games.
The England Under-19s international, who was born in Northern Ireland, has scored six goals and supplied 12 assists in 12 Tottenham Under-21s appearances this term.

Tottenham have endured an injury crisis for almost all of the season but Ange Postecoglou’s available options are set to be thinned further in January when Son Heung-min, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma head off to international competitions in Asia and Africa.
Robinson, therefore, reckons Donley could continue to star in the first team at Tottenham but he does admit that certain players, such as James Maddison and Mick van de Ven, could soon be back from injury.
“Depending on what Ange Postecoglou does in the January transfer window, players like Jamie Donley may get an opportunity because if you look at January, they’re going to lose Sarr, Bissouma and Son, which leaves a big hole in the squad,” Robinson told Tottenham News.

“With all the players injured too, there are opportunities for others. If Spurs can go into January in the top four or in the top five, then have Maddison and Van de Ven coming back from injury, it’ll soften the impact of losing those other players.
“January will be a big month for Spurs with them losing integral players.”
In other Tottenham news, we have been exclusively told that this big-name Spurs player is set to re-sign for his former club in the summer transfer window.
