Tottenham in strong position to seal yet more new January transfers – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Tottenham...
Dan Plumley has insisted that Tottenham are in a “very strong” position financially for the rest of the January transfer window this month.
The finance expert admitted that with the possibility of Champions League football and the benefits of the new stadium rolling in, money is there to spend for Ange Postecoglou.
With Timo Werner already signed on loan from RB Leipzig and Radu Dragusin joining permanently from Genoa, the door appears open for more to be done.

“They’ve always been a club where financially they are very secure and have always got a little bit of room to work in the transfer market if they want to,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.
“The criticism has been in the past that they haven’t maybe spent where they’ve needed to spend but they’ve always been a club, as I say that are very strong financially and has the ability to spend.

“Overlay that with starting to reap the benefits now of the new stadium, and the matchday income going up and again a potential top-four finish on the cards this season, that starts to get in the mindset of the board and things, and the reward of being in the Champions League with the financial benefits that brings with it as well.
“I think Spurs are always in that position, certainly in the last few years where if they want to invest, they’ve got the potential to do so.”
