Pedro Porro to be axed v Manchester Utd as injured Tottenham trio return
Pedro Porro could make a rare start on the bench when Tottenham take on Manchester United.
Spurs will host Ruben Amorim’s side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday (16 February).
While Tottenham have been in poor form as of late, the North London side have already beaten Manchester United twice this season.
Therefore, confidence of picking up three points in this fixture should be high, and with a host of injured players expected to return to the squad, this could be the perfect opportunity for Postecoglou to begin to turn things around.
Pedro Porro to be axed for Tottenham v Manchester United?
Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Destiny Udogie are all in line to return on Sunday [The Times].
Vicario is expected to replace Antonín Kinský between the sticks against the Red Devils, and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks Udogie could come in for Porro, while Djed Spence keeps his place in the team.
“Things need freshening up,” Wenham said.
“Therefore, with Udogie likely to come back in, I’d expect Porro to be given a rest and I’d be more than happy for Udogie and Spence to start as the full-back pairing.
“Porro has played more minutes than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season and has put plenty of effort in. As a result, I think he needs to be rested, and I’m expecting that Vicario and Maddison could also start, with Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson hopefully able to make the bench.”
Destiny Udogie to replace Pedro Porro for Tottenham v Manchester United?
United are arguably in just as much trouble as Tottenham at the moment.
The Red Devils are currently sat 13th in the Premier League, just two points above 14th-placed Tottenham. Therefore, this game on Sunday is massive for both teams.

It represents a real opportunity for one of these two struggling clubs to begin to turn their season around, while for the club that tastes defeat, it will only compile their current misery.
Therefore, Postecoglou will hope any players who do return from injury can inspire Tottenham to a win.
