Pedro Porro on Manchester City ‘shortlist’ as £60m Tottenham claim emerges
Manchester City could look to make a move for Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro.
As reported exclusively by Tottenham News on 4 January 2024, Pep Guardiola’s side view Porro as the perfect long-term replacement for Kyle Walker.
Therefore, after Guardiola confirmed that Walker had asked to leave City [via Sky Sports News, 12 January], it appears as though Porro is increasingly likely to join the Premier League champions.
And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – expects the Spaniard to be on a transfer shortlist at the Etihad Stadium.
“I think Porro would cost somewhere around £60million,” King said.
“Guardiola will know plenty about Porro already, and I think he could be a good replacement for Walker at Manchester City. Therefore, I expect Porro to be on Manchester City’s transfer shortlist.”
Manchester City to sign Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro?
Porro is Spurs’ starting right-back and has played the majority of the club’s games this season. Therefore, Ange Postecoglou is unlikely to want to lose the 25-year-old.
However, after calls on social media for the defender to be released, it appears as though that same sentiment might not be shared among the Tottenham faithful.
As a result, if a big money offer were to come in for Porro, a lot of supporters might want Daniel Levy to accept. However, the right-back would of course need replacing.

With £60m in the bank, that shouldn’t be too much of a difficult task, while the club could even promote from within after Djed Spence’s impressive recent form. Therefore, it seems as though losing Porro might not be such a bad thing.
In other Tottenham news, Real Madrid are set to launch a £42million bid for one player at the club.
