Napoli told ‘Timo Werner transfer conditions’ as Tottenham exit update emerges
Timo Werner hasn’t enjoyed a positive second loan spell with Tottenham.
The German has been widely linked with a move away from Spurs in recent weeks, with supporters insisting they would drive the German to the airport themselves.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio via his website (13 January), Napoli have identified Werner as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the Italian side will need to come to an expensive agreement if RB Leipzig are to agree to a deal.
“Look, the situation with Werner is actually quite simple,” Wenham said.
“From my point of view, I think Leipzig will only be willing to cancel Werner’s loan at Tottenham under the condition that they can strike the same deal they struck with us, with another club.
“Therefore, we’re relying on Napoli agreeing to take on his £165,000-per-week wages. As a result, we will need to wait and see what happens.”
Timo Werner to leave Tottenham and join Napoli?
Ange Postecoglou’s side are paying Werner big money. However, the 28-year-old’s performances on the pitch haven’t justified what he is earning.
Therefore, if Tottenham do get the opportunity to move forward on, they absolutely should take it. However, they’re unfortunately relying on another club to help them out.

And after Postecoglou shared a concerning injury update regarding Werner ahead of the Premier League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday (15 January), it seems as though the chances of the winger leaving the club have reduced.
In other Tottenham news, the club have made a bid for an international player.
