Mikey Moore ‘to want Millwall transfer’ as Tottenham exit claim emerges

Mikey Moore could push for a move to Championship side Millwall as doubts emerge over his immediate Tottenham future.

Moore has established himself as a consistent part of the first-team squad this season, making 16 appearances in all competitions for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

However, as players have begun to return from injury in recent weeks, the 17-year-old has struggled for minutes, with some fans even urging Moore to quit Tottenham after a recent development.

And while Spurs aren’t expected to be in any rush to decide on a summer move for Moore, it appears as though the teenager could already have Millwall as a potential destination in mind.

Moore ‘could join Millwall as Tottenham transfer decision looms’

Moore recently sent a message to Postecoglou, reminding him of his quality and the fact that the Australian has perhaps been wrong to leave the winger out so often in recent weeks.

The young Spurs gem will have more opportunities to remind Postecoglou of what he can do in the coming weeks after an official England announcement.

However, if he continues to remain on the bench in North London, a loan move could be on the cards this summer and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has suggested that the player would likely be keen to temporarily join Millwall.

“I think Tottenham will look at the situation in pre-season,” Wenham said.

“We know that Timo Werner will be leaving the club, and it isn’t yet decided what will happen with Mathys Tel. Therefore, the club have time to decide what the course of action is.

“However, if Moore were to go out on loan next season, it would need to be a move to the Championship, where he would be a starter. He has got the physical aspect of the game already, and if he were to choose where to go, I think he’d want Millwall.

“That is his boyhood club, so I’m sure it would be an amazing move for all parties.”

Postecoglou should hand Moore chances in the coming weeks

Spurs will be going all out to win the UEFA Europa League this season, with very little left to play for in the Premier League.

As a result, Postecoglou is expected to make eight Tottenham changes against Fulham at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Sunday (16 March).

And Moore should be one of the players who gets onto the pitch in West London.
