Mikey Moore ‘to start for Tottenham v Leicester’ after Postecoglou development
Mikey Moore is expected to start for Tottenham against Leicester City.
The Foxes will travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a Premier League clash on 26 January – provided the match can go ahead after a MET Office update.
Ange Postecoglou will be desperate for three points and could make some changes after the Australian claimed his players were “exhausted” [via Football London, 23 January] – a claim which Harry Redknapp has hit back at.
Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – expects that Moore will come into the starting lineup against Leicester.
“I want to give a shoutout to Moore for his cameo against Hoffenheim,” Wenham said.
“He came on and grabbed himself another assist, which means that is now back-to-back assists for him off the bench. He is clearly becoming more and more established in the first team.
“I’m hoping to see him start against Leicester. I expected him to start against Hoffenheim. Therefore, because he didn’t, I expect him to start on Sunday.”
Mikey Moore to start for Tottenham against Leicester?
Moore has demonstrated that he is ready for first-team football by grabbing back-to-back assists off the bench for Tottenham.
Therefore, Postecoglou has no excuse not to start the 17-year-old, who will likely be fuming after missing out on the starting lineup against Hoffenheim in Spurs’ 3-2 UEFA Europa League win at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Thursday (23 January).
Leicester travel to North London in poor form, having lost their last seven matches on the bounce. As a result, this is the perfect opportunity for Moore to come into the side and demonstrate what he is capable of.

Therefore, if Postecoglou chooses to once again leave the youngster on the bench and start Son Heung-min, the 59-year-old will only have himself to blame for his players feeling as exhausted as he claims they are.
