Mikey Moore ‘frustrated’ as new Postecoglou claim made at Tottenham

Mikey Moore has found gametime hard to come by as of late for Tottenham.

Despite what has been a largely dismal campaign for Tottenham, there has been the occasional cause for optimism.

Perhaps none as much as Moore, who has enjoyed a breakthrough season at North London despite being just 17 years old.

However, as players return from injury and the pressure keeps piling on Ange Postecoglou, minutes on the pitch have become far and few between for the youngster.

Postecoglou has refrained from using Moore for Tottenham recently

Despite his age, Moore has shown that he is more than capable of holding his own at senior level, though Postecoglou has still limited the amount of time the teen has had on the pitch as of late.

Paul Robinson – when speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that Spurs’ own regression will be the downfall of Moore, with Postecoglou unable to take the risk.

“He’s only a youngster. Any first-team minutes for him this season is a bonus,” Robinson said.

“He’s been in and around that squad and training every day with that first-team squad. And with the situation Tottenham are in, Ange is not going to use him regularly in the Europa League. He’s going to choose and use his tried and tested. You know, the players, like you say, he’s getting his full squad back from injury now.

“That’s the time that he’s going to be judged. He’s going to be judged between now and the end of the season. He has not had the players to play as he wants. The players haven’t been at his disposal.

“Now he’s got a squad that’s strong enough and good enough to compete, which will be to the detriment of Mikey Moore between now and the end of the season because Postecoglou will use those players.”

Tottenham could seek loan departure for Moore

With Tottenham in dire need of improvement next season, first-team involvement for youngsters could become even more limited.

With that in mind, Moore may seek a loan exit from Spurs to get the first-team football that he is deserving of in a bid to develop his game even further.

While you have to consider his age, Moore will still be frustrated at the fact he’s not getting much of a look in despite the lacklustre performances of those in front of him in the pecking order.
