Mathys Tel ‘to remain at Tottenham’ after official announcement
Mathys Tel looks as though he will have more opportunities to create history with Tottenham.
Tel has enjoyed his time with Tottenham since he joined the Lilywhites on loan from Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window, with a £45million buy-option included in the agreement.
The Frenchman became a UEFA Europa League winner under Ange Postecoglou, who has now been sacked by Tottenham, and started several times in the Premier League.
And it looks as though Tel’s loan stay with Tottenham is set to be made permanent after an official announcement.

Tottenham omit Tel in new departure update
Tottenham confirmed on Saturday (31 May) that Fraser Forster, Alfie Whiteman, and Sergio Reguilón have all departed the club following the conclusion of their contracts.
The Lilywhites also revealed that Timo Werner had returned to RB Leipzig after his loan stay in North London.

However, there was no mention of Tel in the announcement, despite his loan deal expiring on 30 June.
Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes this indicates that Tel will remain at Spurs beyond the summer.
“It sounds like negotiations are ongoing,” Wenham said.
“Werner’s contract was set to expire on 30 June, and Tottenham announced his departure. Therefore, if they weren’t making loan announcements yet, they wouldn’t have made that announcement on Werner.
“It does seem like Tottenham are set to keep Tel in some capacity. Whether that is a permanent deal, another loan or a loan with an obligation to buy, we’ll have to wait and see. However, to me, the fact that nothing was announced about Tel suggests that he will remain at Tottenham in some capacity.”
Tottenham should keep Tel
Tel has demonstrated that he can adapt to the intensity of the Premier League after netting twice for Tottenham. He also played an important role in the Europa League towards the end of the season.
Tottenham have a vibrant team full of young talents and characters with the drive to win at the highest level.
Therefore, Tel has proven that he holds the Spurs mentality within his core and should be given the chance to wear the badge for a few more years.
