Luka Vuskovic ‘ready for the Premier League’ amid huge Tottenham recall development

Luka Vuskovic could return to Tottenham early from his loan spell with Hamburg.

The Lilywhites have sent the centre-back to the Bundesliga for his loan this season, after he previously spent time in both the Polish and Belgian top flights.

Vuskovic caught the eye for Tottenham in pre-season, and many people expected him to be in and around the first team this time around.

Thomas Frank and Co. ultimately decided that another loan stint was the best fit for the 18-year-old at the moment, but his situation could now be about to change imminently.

Luka Vuskovic ready in the event of Tottenham recall

It has recently emerged that Tottenham have the option to recall Vuskovic from his loan spell in the January window.

The N17 outfit negotiated a clause with Hamburg that will allow them to bring the Croatian back early, if one of their defenders suffers a serious injury in the first half of the season, according to Bild.

The youngster is expected to play a key role for Hamburg, and recently made his debut for them in their defeat to Bayern Munich.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that the starlet would be ready to step into the Premier League if the need arose for the Lilywhites to recall him early.

“I think he (Vuskovic) would be ready for the Premier League,” King said.

“He’s been out on loan before, and now he’s playing in the Bundesliga, and that’s a good standard.

“I don’t know whether he’d go straight into the team if he was recalled, that would probably be down to whether the injury was to (Cristian) Romero, (Micky) Van de Ven or somebody else.

“Plenty of young players got the chance last year and proved that they were capable of playing in the Premier League, and it will be the same with him.”

Luka Vuskovic will be part of Spurs’ squad next year

Spurs will be delighted with the praise that Vuskovic has already received from his new manager at Hamburg, and it now feels inevitable that he will get the chance to prove himself in N17 next year.

Having now stepped into one of Europe’s ‘big five’ leagues for the first time in his career, it feels as though the next logical step is for the defender to begin to cut his teeth with Spurs, providing that his time with Hamburg isn’t disastrous.

The recall option is undoubtedly a nice thing for Frank and Co. to have if needed, but it surely makes more sense to leave Vuskovic where he is settled and ensure that he is ready to make the final step up next term.
