Luca Williams-Barnett ‘to receive first-team opportunity’ at Tottenham
Luca Williams-Barnett is one of the most exciting young players at Tottenham and could be set for a chance to demonstrate this in the first team.
Williams-Barnett has been tearing up the Under-18 Premier League South this season, and it has been suggested previously that the 16-year-old will be fast-tracked to the Tottenham first team.
The forward has already featured in a senior matchday squad and trained with the Spurs first-team players at Hotspur Way.
And it looks as though supporters might not have to wait much longer to catch a glimpse of Williams-Barnett in first-team action.

Williams-Barnett ‘to travel with Tottenham on pre-season tour’
Tottenham might have nothing to play for in the Premier League. However, the North London club still have a chance to make history this season by winning the UEFA Europa League.
Ange Postecoglou’s side hold a 3-1 lead over Bodø/Glimt heading into the second leg of the two clubs’ Europa League semi-final showdown.
Fixture | Date | Venue | Result |
Tottenham v Bodø/Glimt | 1 May | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium | 3-1 |
Bodø/Glimt v Tottenham | 8 May | Aspmyra Stadion | N/A |
Therefore, all the attention will still be on this season.
However, when Spurs begin to make decisions about which players will be travelling on the pre-season tour, which involves a lucrative North London derby, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Williams-Barnett’s name could be on the list.
“I think we could see some of the Under-18s on the pre-season tour,” Wenham said.
“The first priority will be securing loan moves. However, one or two of those younger players could be included in the pre-season tour squad, such as Williams-Barnett.
“It, of course, depends on any signings that are made. However, it also looks like a lot of players will be leaving this summer, which means there will be space on the tour.”
Williams-Barnett deserves a first-team chance at Tottenham
Although he is still only a schoolboy player, Williams-Barnett has proven this season that he is too good for the Under-18s.
Therefore, the teenager should be playing with the Under-21s next season, and a place on the pre-season tour would certainly be deserved.
