Luca Williams-Barnett hailed as ‘ridiculous’ Tottenham claim emerges
Ange Postecoglou will surely be thinking about handing Luca Williams-Barnett a first-team chance at Tottenham.
Postecoglou has had to rely on young players a lot this season due to Spurs’ severe injury crisis.
Luckily for the Australian, he has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday (26 February), as players begin to return.
Therefore, the Spurs boss won’t need to rely as heavily on young players in the coming weeks, which is especially important with the UEFA Europa League right around the corner.
However, that is not to say that some players won’t be handed opportunities, and if any academy player is going to feature in a first-team squad, it should be Williams-Barnett.

Williams-Barnett enjoying ‘ridiculous’ season for Tottenham
Williams-Barnett recently scored for England’s Under-17s in a 4-0 win over the Netherlands’ Under-17s on Monday (24 February), as the 16-year-old continues to demonstrate to Postecoglou he is ready to step up.
It has already been suggested that Williams-Barnett could be fast-tracked to the Tottenham first-team next season, and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – was full of praise for the young forward after his recent England goal.
“He has been doing incredibly well this season,” Wenham said.
“We’re talking about someone who isn’t even an official Under-18s player yet.
“He is doing it for England and Tottenham. For him to get another goal on international duty just adds to his ridiculous stats this season. He’s impressing everyone at Tottenham, and I’m sure when the time is right, his chance will come.”

Postecoglou should hand Williams-Barnett a chance at Tottenham
Spurs are currently 12th in the Premier League. Therefore, their best shot at qualifying for European football next season is by winning the Europa League.
As a result, when the competition returns, Postecoglou should consider playing a much-weakened squad in the Premier League and putting all his energy into Europe.

That would open up opportunities for some of the younger players in England’s top flight, which could see Williams-Barnett given some minutes for the first-team.
