Levy ‘pressuring Forest for Gibbs-White’ after Wissa news – Exclusive
Daniel Levy does not like to lose and is expected to increase the pressure on Nottingham Forest to sell Morgan Gibbs-White.
The Tottenham Chairman will be looking to play the long game with Forest as the Gibbs-White saga pushes into its second week.
It is believed that the Forest midfielder is keen on the transfer, and Levy will do his best to make it happen. As a result, Spurs are already ramping up the pressure on the Midlands outfit to secure Gibbs-White’s arrival at Hotspur Way this summer.

Yoane Wissa news a ploy to pressure Nottingham Forest
Tottenham have been linked to Brentford’s Yoane Wissa throughout the summer, and have inched closer to securing him.
As reported by Alex Cook (17 July), Newcastle have identified Wissa as an option after Hugo Ekitike made his Liverpool preference clear. However, the forward would prefer a reunion with Thomas Frank at Tottenham.
As a result, Levy could be tempted to strike while the iron is hot and welcome Wissa to Hotspur Way this summer.
Player | Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes |
Morgan Gibbs-White | 2024/25 | 38 | 7 | 10 | 3.142′ |
Yoane Wissa | 2024/25 | 39 | 20 | 5 | 3.079′ |
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that the recent news could just be a ploy from Spurs to pressure Forest into selling their star man.
“I think the resurfaced news about Wissa has more to do with putting pressure on Nottingham Forest a little bit rather than pursuing the player,” Wenham said.
“I just think we’re quite heavily stacked in the wing positions and there has to be some outgoings there first before any new wingers come to the club, with Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel permanently joining this summer already. “
Tottenham should still sign Wissa
The Lilywhites should still sign Wissa this summer, even if Gibbs-White arrives at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The forward will have an idea of how Thomas Frank prefers to operate after playing under him at Brentford. This would help the Dane during his adaptation period in North London.
Furthermore, Wissa has demonstrated elite output under Frank, having scored 20 goals and made five assists last season. There is no doubt that he could contribute even more with elite playmakers like James Maddison or potentially Gibbs-White behind him.
For a respectable price, signing a Frank proven player with huge potential seems like a no-brainer.
