Levy ‘fails to come up with money’ as Tottenham exit confirmed – Exclusive
Daniel Levy often drives a hard bargain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Levy is known to be one of the toughest negotiators in the Premier League.
While this can be a good thing, it also sometimes comes back to bite the 63-year-old as Spurs miss out on potential transfer targets, much to the disappointment and frustration of fans in North London.
And it is expected that Levy’s stubborn nature has now led to a player exit at Tottenham.

Josh Keeley fails to agree new contract with Tottenham
Tottenham confirmed on Saturday (19 July) that Josh Keeley has joined Luton Town.
Keeley leaves Spurs after an impressive loan spell at Leyton Orient last season, where the goalkeeper kept 16 clean sheets.
Player | Season | Club | Appearances | Clean Sheets | Minutes |
Josh Keeley | 2024/25 | Leyton Orient | 47 | 16 | 4.350′ |
Tottenham were initially involved in talks over a new contract for Keeley. However, as reported by Football London (17 July), an agreement could not be reached.
In light of the news, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Spurs were unable to offer Keeley an adequate financial package.
“Alasdair Gold’s piece said that Tottenham had been unable to agree a new contract,” Wenham said.
“To me, that seems that they’ve been unable to offer a financial package that represents the trajectory Keeley’s career is currently on.
“I’ve got no doubt that Keeley will be back in the Premier League in the future. I’ve got no doubt that he will battle Caoimhin Kelleher for Ireland’s number one position over the next 10 years, and they’re going to have two really good keepers there.
“Therefore, for Keeley to go to Luton, I understand that. They have ambitious plans, and they’ll be back in the Championship next season, I’m sure. So it is a good move for Keeley, he’ll be their number one.”
Tottenham could regret Keeley’s departure
Tottenham fans were displeased when the news that Keeley could be leaving Hotspur Way first surfaced.
There were high expectations when the Lilywhites first signed the player, which have skyrocketed following his loan spell last season. As a result, some would have preferred Keeley to be kept around.
Therefore, Levy could regret not fighting harder to retain his services.
