John Wenham: Two Tottenham Under-18 stars flying under the radar are ones to ‘watch out for’
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham has named Ellis Lehane and James Rowswell as two Tottenham Under-18 players to “watch out for” as the youngsters continue their impressive start to the season.
Spurs’ Under-18s have won their last six games in a row and currently sit top of the Under-18 Premier League South.
A player such as Mikey Moore will already be on the radar of plenty of Tottenham’s supporters but there are a number of other young stars who are impressing at that level.

And Wenham has reserved particular praise for two young players in the Tottenham set-up who supporters should be excited about.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “There’s a young forward named Ellis Lehane who is an academy first year, he came off the bench in the FA Youth Cup last year as a 15-year-old when we were chasing the game, and from that point onwards, I thought that this is someone Tottenham obviously value quite highly to be bringing him on in that situation.
“This year, he has initially been bedding into the Under-18s side, but in the last few games he’s been coming on as the central striker, and that allows Mikey Moore to drift back to his natural left-wing position.

“He’s a big, tall forward and he has been getting a few goals himself, he just seems to be in the right place at the right time. He’s very much a penalty box forward rather than somebody that links-up play outside of the box and his numbers have been really catching my eye.
“Another player who has improved a lot this season is centre-back James Rowswell.
“He has continued to cement himself as the main leader and centre back in that side alongside Archie Chaplin. I know that people at Tottenham really do like him, so he is one to watch out for.”
In other Tottenham news, Wenham has piled on the praise for one of Spurs’ summer recruits, describing his impact as “miraculous.”
