John Wenham is ‘fully expecting’ Tottenham to beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham feels “confident” and is “fully expecting” Tottenham to beat Crystal Palace when the teams meet in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Friday 27 October.
A victory for Ange Postecoglou’s side against their London rivals would see them extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal playing this weekend.
Spurs enjoyed a positive result away at Palace last season, winning 4-0 under Antonio Conte back in January.

And Wenham expects this Tottenham team, which he believes is much improved, to go to Selhurst Park and win again.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “If Tottenham can get a win against Crystal Palace, which I’m backing them to do, they would go five points clear before every other team plays their games over the weekend.
“Considering the confidence Tottenham are currently playing with and the run they’re currently on, I’m fully expecting them to go to Palace and win.
“Palace looked very poor against Newcastle and their last two home games have finished 0-0, first with Fulham and then Nottingham Forest, so I am really not too concerned. I know people talk about Selhurst Park under the lights, but we played under the lights against them last year and put four past them.

“That was with Bryan Gil in the starting line-up and Harvey White coming on as a substitute, not to mention Matt Doherty grabbing a goal.
“Our current team is incomparable compared to the team that played at Selhurst Park last year and is better in every area, with the exception of Harry Kane up top.
“Therefore, I’m very confident that we will go to Palace, win, and put ourselves in a very strong position going into the match against Chelsea.”
In other Tottenham news, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King has offered his predicted lineup for the league clash with Roy Hodgson’s side.
