John Wenham backing ‘incredibly frustrated’ Tottenham U18s to avenge defeat v Chelsea
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham is “backing” Tottenham Under-18s to avenge their defeat against Chelsea Under-18s last weekend and get a win when the two sides meet again on Saturday (28 October).
Spurs and Chelsea’s Under-18 Premier League Cup clash ended 4-3 in favour of the Blues last Saturday (21 October).
The result leaves Chelsea top of Group E and Spurs in second. Meanwhile, in the Under-18 Premier League South, it is Tottenham who occupy top spot, ahead of Chelsea on goal difference, with the two sides set to meet in the league this weekend.

And Wenham is backing Spurs to get a win at the home of their London rivals.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “It was a really strange game, at one point in the match Tottenham were in complete control and could have been ahead by four or five.
“Mikey Moore and Oliver Irow were pulling the strings and Tyrese Hall was dominating the midfield.
“I would have never seen the game turning the way it did, but Chelsea went from strength to strength despite being down to ten men, got the game back 3-3 and continued to apply constant pressure until they scored the winner, so credit to them.

“That was a Premier League Cup fixture and Tottenham have the opportunity to put that right this weekend when they play Chelsea away from home in the Under 18 Premier League.
“I know the players were incredibly frustrated by that result as they were in complete control at one point, so I am backing them to put it right this weekend at Cobham.”
