Ivan Perisic may never play for Tottenham again, January exit on cards – Expert
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham believes injured Tottenham star Ivan Perisic will “move on in January” in what would be a “big loss” for Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
Perisic has not been seen in a Spurs shirt since September with a long-term ACL injury ruling the 33-year-old out of action.
With the injury expected to keep him out for the rest of the season, which is the same time his contract in north London expires, there is a very good chance the Croatia international has made his final appearance for the club.

Wenham has suggested he could perhaps leave even earlier and that his absence will certainly be felt.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “One player who I really think that we are missing is Perisic.
“His absence seems to have flown under the radar a bit because he wasn’t being named in the starting line-ups for the first few games under Postecoglou, however, he was still making a real difference from the bench.
“He was very useful in the last 10/15 minutes of games and used his experience to help us just see games out.
“We’re talking about a hugely experienced winner, so losing him was a big blow and I don’t think we’ll see him again in a Tottenham shirt.

“I fully expect him to move on in January and that will certainly be a big loss for the squad.
“Especially when you consider the fact we are missing other players, such as Manor Solomon who got injured on the back of those two assists away at Burnley in a 5-2 victory.
“We’re missing a lot of options at the moment.”
In other Tottenham news, one BBC Sport pundit fears that a “can of worms” has been opened at the club.
