Iraola ‘to convince Huijsen to join Tottenham’ amid Postecoglou sack latest
Tottenham could raid Bournemouth this summer by swooping for Andoni Iraola and Dean Huijsen.
Amid all the uncertainty surrounding Postecoglou’s future in North London, Bournemouth boss Iraola has emerged as a candidate to replace the Australian.
It is believed that the 42-year-old is ready to join Tottenham, and he might not have to wait too much longer for his opportunity.
In addition, should Iraola replace Postecoglou, the Spaniard could bring centre-back Huijsen with him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after a recent transfer update.
Huijsen ‘to follow Iraola to Tottenham’
It is looking increasingly likely that Tottenham will part ways with Postecoglou.
A decision could come within days, as should Tottenham be eliminated from the UEFA Europa League by Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday (17 April), Jamie Carragher believes Postecoglou will be sacked.
Therefore, Iraola could soon get his opportunity at Tottenham, which in turn would provide the North London club with a big boost in the race for Huijsen after a recent transfer update.

As reported by David Ornstein on Thursday (10 April), Tottenham have held talks with Huijsen’s representatives.
Bournemouth and the player, who has a £50million release clause, are keen for a swift decision, which could spell the end of the road for Cristian Romero at Tottenham.
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the only way Spurs will be able to convince Huijsen to join the club is by appointing Iraola.
“At the moment, I can’t see Huijsen wanting to join Tottenham,” Wenham said.
“Bournemouth look as though they will have European football next season, whereas we will have nothing to offer. Therefore, the only way I could see Huijsen joining the club is if we appoint Iraola.
“He is the manager who has allowed Huijsen to play in the Premier League. Therefore, he might want to stick with him for a couple of years. In addition, Tottenham have more money and are a much bigger club than Bournemouth. Therefore, if we appoint Iraola, then we could sign Huijsen.”
Huijsen and Iraola could lift Tottenham
The mood around Tottenham at the moment is miserable. As a result, it looks as though it is a matter of when, not if, Postecoglou is sacked.
Therefore, the supporters will need a big lift this summer, and appointing Iraola, who then convinces Huijsen to sign for Tottenham, would certainly be a huge boost.
