Injury Expert: Tottenham goalkeeper Fraser Forster will still be working on back despite first-team return
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Tottenham Hotspur...
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Fraser Forster is expected to still be working on his back exercises, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert reacted to the former England international’s return to the first team as the second-choice keeper for Ange Postecoglou.
The 35-year-old even played in the Carabao Cup defeat to Fulham on penalties on 29 August.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Tottenham Hotspur News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “He will still be undergoing certain sessions to ensure he does not face any setbacks.
“Back injuries can be tricky because they’re so involved in every movement and keepers have some unique movements that involve different angulations of the back as well.
“His return to training would have been based on increasing intensity and seeing how he responded – that will partially involve increasing specific strength training but there are a lot more complexities to the back, especially when it comes to rotation.
“It will be a comprehensive strength, mobility and sport-specific movement as he looks to stay fit and ready to be called upon as the second choice.“
Forster moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2022 to be the backup to then-goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Last season, with the Frenchman missing a number of games, the Englishman stepped into his shoes between the posts.
He is in the final year of his contract at the North London club and it remains to be seen whether or not his deal will be extended at the end of the season.
Given their exit from the League Cup, fans are unlikely to see Forster in action again until the FA Cup which will commence in January.
In other Tottenham news, a forgotten Spurs full-back may feel like a new signing under Postecoglou.
