Huge Dominic Solanke transfer admission emerges at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Paul Robinson has urged Tottenham to buy Brentford star Ivan Toney over Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke this summer.
According to talkSPORT [21 May], Spurs are one of the Premier League teams keeping a close eye on the Cherries’ forward this summer, though it is understood a “hefty” bid would be needed to secure his signature.
Solanke has only recently signed a new deal at the Vitality Stadium, securing his future with the club until 2027, leaving Bournemouth with no urgency to sell.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “It depends on how much they’d need to pay for him. He scored 19 Premier League goals this season, which is excellent, but he scored them all in clusters. He’s not regularly done it season after season.
“If you look, there are other strikers that offer better value because of what they’d have to pay for him. Personally, I’d like Ivan Toney at Tottenham. He hasn’t got the pressing game that Ange would want but the rest of his game would fit. I think he’s a better player in all honesty.
“Solanke’s had an excellent season, putting himself on the fringes of the England squad, and if he repeats that, he might warrant the transfer fee that’s going to be touted about for him this summer.
“Bournemouth had a decent season, finishing 12th in the Premier League. He scored 19 goals in that team which is a huge achievement in itself. But the step from there to a team like Tottenham, where the expectations are hugely upped, I don’t know if his record over the past few seasons warrants the transfer fee being touted about for him.”
Will Tottenham sign Dominic Solanke this summer?

The striker has experienced a superb season in the Premier League, firing Bournemouth up the table and close to the top half. However, a player of his quality will always be looking for a new challenge.
With Spurs unable to replace the gap left by Harry Kane last summer, and Richarlison seemingly on his way out this summer, Solanke could be a perfect addition for Ange Postecoglou.
