Giovani Lo Celso display against Aston Villa was ‘his best performance in a Tottenham shirt’ – Expert
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham believes that Giovani Lo Celso’s performance against Aston Villa was “his best performance in a Tottenham shirt“.
Lo Celso put Spurs 1-0 ahead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 26 November, although Unai Emery’s side did turn the match around to win the game 2-1 and take all three points back to the Midlands.
Nonetheless, it was a positive performance from the Argentine, who will hopefully take a lot of confidence from his goalscoring efforts.

Wenham in particular was pleased by Lo Celso and hopes this is the start of a new chapter at the club for the midfielder.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “Players that have never really offered anything for Tottenham are now starting to come into their own under Postecoglou’s management.
“Take Lo Celso for example, this is somebody that I’d completely written off, I thought Tottenham would have accepted £10/15million for him in the summer just to get him out the door, but he was really good against Aston Villa.
“It was probably his best performance in a Tottenham shirt, he just had a really positive impact on the game.
“Hopefully we can get a tune out of him now and he can be a genuine alternative to James Maddison in the team.

“I think the goal will give him a whole lot of confidence. I know it took a bit of a deflection, but you have got to shoot to score, and it was a really rasping powerful shot.
“Hopefully that is the turning of a corner now and he can avoid injuries that have plagued his time at Tottenham.”
In other Tottenham news, the club must demand more from one star attacker after his frustrating performance against Villa.
