Fraser Forster mooted to quit Tottenham in January after Kinský heroics

Fraser Forster could leave Tottenham earlier than expected.

The goalkeeper – who is out of contract at the end of the season – was already expected to leave the club once his deal expired in the summer.

However, after Antonín Kinský’s performance in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, which saw Ange Postecoglou’s side beat Liverpool 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday (8 January), Forster’s exit plans might have changed.

And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has mooted a January exit for the 36-year-old.

“Spurs have used four goalkeepers this season and it is only January,” King said.

“That is quite amazing. It seems as though Forster has fallen down the pecking order now. Therefore, it looks to me as if the writing is on the wall, it is time to go.

“If a club which will guarantee him first-team football makes an offer in January, I think he would leave.”

Fraser Forster to quit Tottenham in January?

Forster has stepped up well in Vicario’s absence. However, after Kinský’s performance against Liverpool, it is hard to see the Englishman getting back in the side.

The new Spurs keeper was so good that some fans have even suggested that he could become the brand new number one in North London.

Therefore, unless something dramatic changes in the coming weeks, Forster will surely now be the third choice.

As a result, if a club does make an offer, Forster would be wise to quit Tottenham and secure what could be the final big move of his career.
