Fabio Paratici ‘to return to Tottenham’ amid update from Italy

Fabio Paratici could make an immediate return to Tottenham once his ban is lifted on 30 June.

Paratici was forced to step down from his role as Tottenham Managing Director in April 2023 after he lost his appeal against a 30-month ban on certain football-related activities in Italy, which FIFA ruled to extend worldwide.

However, Paratici has continued to advise Spurs as an external consultant, and maintains a close relationship with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Therefore, with the expectation that Johan Lange could be sacked by Levy at the end of the season, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Paratici return to the club, especially not after the latest update from Italy.

Paratici plans made clear as Tottenham return mooted

As reported by TuttoSport (2 March), Paratici is keen to return to football and is currently evaluating several options.

The 52-year-old is in discussion with Premier League clubs, while he also has a strong desire to return to Italy, with AC Milan an option. Despite his positive relationship with Spurs, it is said that a return to North London could be difficult for Paratici.

However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – sees it differently.

“Absolutely he could return to Tottenham,” John Wenham said.

“I know he hasn’t technically been working for Spurs over the past couple of seasons. However, he hasn’t ever really left and has continued to help the club despite his ban.

“Therefore, once his ban is cleared, I could see him coming straight back into the fold at Tottenham. I honestly don’t think that is too far-fetched whatsoever.”

Tottenham could benefit from Paratici’s return

Paratici helped Spurs to sign some top players such as Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur. Therefore, his time in North London is largely seen as a success.

As a result, if Tottenham could bring him back to the club, it would be a positive step in the right direction.
