Fabio Paratici involvement suspected as Tottenham plot move for Udinese gem Festy Ebosele
Fabio Paratici may have some involvement as Tottenham pursue a deal for Udinese gem Festy Ebosele, Paul Robinson has said.
It was reported by by HITC (23 February) that Spurs are one of several clubs looking at the 21-year-old Republic of Ireland full-back this summer.
With Spurs having previously done business with Udinese to sign Destiny Udogie, there may be some credence to the suggestions that they are looking to bring in Ebosele.
Robinson – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks Paratici, who was banned from all footballing activity in March (Sky Sports) and resigned as managing director of Spurs a month later, may have some indirect influence.
He said: “He’s a player I’ve not seen a lot of, he’s a young player who’s got a lot of experience at a young age playing in the Italian league.
“You wou;d have to trust the scouting network, we all know Paratici’s still on the fringes with Daniel Levy.
“You look at the recruitment previously. You go back as far as Bentancur, Kulusevski, Van de Ven, Vicario and if he’s coming out of that mould from that recruitment set-up you would trust the powers that be in the recruitment department that he’s going to be another good one.
“The full-back area is one that Tottenham will look at. Without Porro and Udogie they’ve looked short, Ben Davies hasn’t looked comfortable at full-back, Emerson Royal as well as he’s done this year you can tell when Pedro Porro isn’t playing.”

Ebosele has been on the radar for many teams ever since he made the breakthrough into the first team at Derby County under Wayne Rooey.
The former England captain said Ebosele had the potential to become a “superstar” (Goal) and Spurs might the ideal setting for him to continue his development.
Udogie, of course, came from Udinese too and he has been a revelation playing under Ange Postecoglou this season.
There are no guarantees obviously Ebosele would be able to tread the exact same path but he is the sort of age and profile Postecoglou is looking for at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
