Exclusive: Tottenham ‘to settle out of court’ with INEOS after legal developments

Spurs are likely to settle out of court with INEOS, Tottenham News understands.

Daniel Levy has taken the Manchester United co-owners to the High Court after they withdrew early from a sponsorship agreement in North London.

That deal was ended early after amicable discussions, with a penalty payment worth millions said to have been received by the Lilywhites.

Despite that, it was shared that Spurs lodged a claim on 12 June against INEOS.

Levy takes action against INEOS and Ratcliffe

Tottenham News has been told by a source within football finance that another fee would likely settle this out of court, albeit impossible to predict how much.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe famously started to cut costs as soon as he completed his takeover at Old Trafford, facing severe backlash for some calls.

INEOS ended its relationship with New Zealand Rugby, with the All Blacks also taking legal action.

The chemical producer signed a deal which saw the Ineos Grenadier become the official 4×4 vehicle provider for Tottenham, before any takeover involvement at Manchester United.

Tottenham and Manchester United scuffle

Despite this likely having no direct impact on the Red Devils, they have been burned by the Lilywhites frequently in recent weeks.

After Ange Postecoglou got past Ruben Amorim to lift the Europa League title, the fourth Spurs win over United this season, Ratcliffe was seen far from impressed at the medal ceremony.

The Australian has since been sacked, with Thomas Frank replacing him from Brentford.

To make matters worse at Old Trafford, Frank and Tottenham could now beat them to the marquee signing of Bryan Mbeumo, with a £70million offer now lodged.

As the Dane looks to get his stint at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium off to the best possible start, drama off the pitch with Levy will not help matters, especially with new transfers.

Unfortunately for him, he will likely have to get used to Levy being in the headlines, with negativity seemingly following Tottenham wherever they go for decades now.

Fingers crossed that Frank can end that unfortunate label.
