Exclusive: Sir Gareth Southgate to reject Man United as Tottenham job opening beckons
Sir Gareth Southgate could be the man to change Tottenham for the better.
Southgate fell out with Daniel Levy at Tottenham previously, but could be on the lookout for a job in N17 after two years without a dugout role.
The ex-Middlesbrough boss could soon emerge as a target at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if Thomas Frank is to face the sack.
The Dane saved his job for the short term after Tottenham secured victory against Borussia Dortmund last time around, but results need to improve over a longer period.
Even if they do, Frank may not be the man to lead the Lilywhites forward, as he lacks something that Southgate could bring to North London.

Sir Gareth Southgate could command respect at Tottenham
Frank has failed so far at Tottenham and has been hugely disappointing considering the expectations surrounding him from his Brentford days.
There was hope that the new head coach would come in and make plenty of changes to help improve the atmosphere surrounding Spurs.
That hasn’t happened, and incompetence is still on show in North London on a regular basis, something which could result in his sacking.

Former scout Bryan King believes Frank doesn’t have the influence to make the needed changes in N17, something that Southgate would provide.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “I could see him going in at Manchester United, but I think he’d turn that down.
“He’s certainly got a big enough name for Tottenham, but it depends on whether he wants the job.
“You look at Tottenham, and they need an overhaul from top to bottom, and Thomas Frank doesn’t have the clout to change a lot of things there.
“If you’re the new manager coming in there, you need to be strong.“
Southgate could transform Tottenham
The former defender may not be the most glamorous name, but has excellent experience at improving basket case situations.
When he came in, England were a laughing stock and had no hope of ever winning any sort of tournament, despite their wealth of talent.
Southgate didn’t win a World Cup or EUROs, but instilled belief into his players and made the impossible, like winning a penalty shootout, become possible.
That sort of mentality and the willingness to let players improve could be exactly what Spurs need, especially after so much turbulence over the years.
As a replacement for Frank, he could take Tottenham down a completely different pathway, but one that could make a world of difference in North London.
