Doctor issues injury verdict on Tottenham defender Djed Spece on loan at Leeds United
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Tottenham Hotspur...
The Tottenham medical staff may also be in constant touch with Djed Spence who is spending the season on loan at Leeds United, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has reacted to Leeds manager Daniel Farke’s recent comments on the full-back, who’s missed the majority of the season through injury.
Farke said at the start of December that the 23-year-old has been impressing in training and was brought off the bench on 9 December against Blackburn Rovers.

Discussing the state of play with Bentancur exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “The comments make sense to me – they want to make sure that his fitness level, confidence and rhythm are up to par to play longer minutes.
“The medical staff will be keeping a close eye on how he responds to training and match minutes to determine when he can play 90.
“Spurs medics may also be keeping in touch with him, particularly if he’s viewed as a future first-team player.“

Spence will now be looking for regular game time this season and that was one of the reasons Spurs sent him out on loan.
However, he’s only got 29 minutes of league football and Ange Postecoglou may have to have a word with Farke over his plans for the right-back.
The Englishman’s progress will be halted if he does not play regular football, given he’s still in his early 20s.
Whether or not Spurs look to exercise their recall option in January, remains to be seen, as they’ve got an injury crisis as well.
In other Tottenham Hotspur news, a player is mooted to have suffered a setback in his rehabilitation and now may be out for longer than first expected.
