Djed Spence tipped to join Premier League club on loan amid Tottenham exit news
Djed Spence could join a Premier League club on loan from Tottenham in January.
As reported by Give Me Sport [9 December], Spence is expected to receive approaches to leave Tottenham on loan in January, with Nottingham Forest mooted as a possible destination.
The full-back has since been handed his first Tottenham start, putting in a “terrific” display during Spurs’ 5-0 Premier League win over Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday [15 December].
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – still doesn’t think the player is part of the long-term thinking in North London.
“Spurs were willing to let Spence go for not much money in the summer,” Wenham said.
“Therefore, he probably is still available for transfer. I think it would probably need for a club to have a right-back unavailable due to injury or some other reason. However, Spence could certainly join a Premier League club on loan.”

Spence has been sent out on loan three times since moving to Tottenham in 2022. Therefore, it would hardly be a surprise to see him make such a move again.
And if he were to join a Premier League club on loan, that wouldn’t be such a bad idea for the player, as he would likely receive more minutes.
Postecoglou hasn’t shown much faith in the 24-year-old since he arrived in North London. As a result, under different circumstances, he might be happy to let Spence go. However, Spurs are currently suffering from an injury crisis so bad that behind-the-scenes dismissals have been mooted as a result.
Therefore, letting a valuable squad player, who has recently shown his quality, leave in January might not be such a good idea.
