Dibling to Tottenham: Tyrese Hall exit claim emerges as swap deal discussed
Southampton are interested in taking Tyrese Hall from Tottenham as part of a deal for Tyler Dibling.
That is according to the Express (30 January), who report that the Saints have internally discussed the possibility of including Hall as a makeweight in any deal which would see Dibling move to North London.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have held “concrete talks” with the 18-year-old’s management [via Florian Plettenberg, 24 January].
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think Hall will be included in any potential transfer.
“It is Southampton who have internally discussed this possibility,” Wenham said.
“Therefore, it doesn’t seem as though there has been any encouragement from Spurs about including Hall. Tottenham only recently handed him a five-year contract.
“Hall is incredibly highly regarded at Tottenham. As a result, I think he’s more likely to head out on loan in the coming days, and then I expect he will flourish and there will be interest in a far higher loan next season. Therefore, while Southampton might be interested, I don’t imagine Tottenham will entertain any thoughts of letting him go.”
Tottenham to refuse permanent Tyrese Hall exit?
Hall is one of Spurs’ most talented young players, with the midfielder featuring heavily in pre-season. However, the 19-year-old is yet to feature for the first team this season.
As a result, he will likely be fuming with Postecoglou, and there is a desperation for the youngster to leave on loan for the second half of the season.
However, letting him go permanently would be a mistake considering the talent he possesses.
Therefore, no matter how hard Southampton push, and how badly Spurs want Dibling, Daniel Levy shouldn’t even consider including Hall in a transfer.
Otherwise, they could live to regret their decision.
